early batches were overwhelmingly Biden I think. But as the days went by more and more Trump supporters voted that way. day of the election was heavily Trump supporters though.

Depends on the state but likely. A poll watcher in my state told me that the early votes are counted this way...

They are verified as valid (signature and seal) taken out of their sealed envelopes and put in a pile (so you cannot connect the ballot with a name)

Then walked down the hall and counted.

Since you can't count them before the election is over.. presumably they have to be entered into the counting machines after voting is closed.

The polling place was 5 min walk from me so I just did it in person,..
but I have coWorkers who are Repubs and I know some of them mailed it in.

But I don't doubt more Dems used mail in this time around than Repubs.

I mean,..it's obvious now, eh.. When the day started it was bleeding red,..then as the mail ins came and were counted the blues caught up.

Why?

Just going by generalizations,...many Dems didn't wanna go to a crowded place due to Covid. Repubs were like.,.hold my beer.

Funny thing is,.when I personally went,..there were no lines because many already voted early or used mail.

Trump was vocally against mail in voting. He tried to block the USPS back in August. He's been whining about voter fraud before the election. He basically dared democrats to vote mail-in and republican to vote in person. If he loses, that's his backfire.

Dunno why. It’s just that in most states, Ds tend to use mail-in more than Rs do.

I have no clue why.

Traditionally Republicans outvote Democrats in mail-in ballots.

This year could be a lot different, but mail-in voting has always been an genuine asset to Republicans. It could have something to do with having more expendable income and more likely to travel.

Nowadays Trump has put the hex on it, and that might influence a lot of the NEW Republicans Trump brought in during the 2016 run, but there are clearly a lot of traditional lifetime Republicans voting with mail-in ballots again this year.

I'm a registered independent but voted absentee as I usually do. The lines for in person here were over an hour since there were only three places to do it - none in my town. I have bone spurs on my feet that make it hard to stand in line for ling periods so I mailed it. I voted for President Trump though.

And honestly, that's one of the reasons why I voted by mail. I had no hesitation about voting in person, but I felt like being oppositional.
