Last night Trump was ahead in PA by 2.6% with 89% of the vote in. Now it's 2.6% with 87% in???

Is there any legitimate way the total number of votes counted (or turned in) can go DOWN from one day to the next?

Only possible in Philadelphia maybe?

The media's reporting stations only report what they've been told by each state board, right?

Help me out here.....

The number didn’t go down - the percentage did.
And yes, the percentage can absolutely go down when more ballots are added to the total.

Hard to say when you provide nothing to back up the claims.

It seems GA is pretty much a wrap for Trump, with very few votes still to be counted.

He has a nice lead in PA with 91% in.

NC looks like a wrap for him too.

AZ seems to be going to Biden.

NV can go either way.

In other words they are both still in it, and NV might decide the whole thing.

In short, Trump seems to win GA, PA, NC, and even if Biden wins AZ, the winner of NV will take the cake.

So, after all the whining and crying about fraud and such, its still s tight race.

After midnight on election night, Trump was up by 700k votes, the next morning on the 4th, it was down to 525k, and by last night, less than 100k.. not suspicious at all..

This seems like your first election. Counting the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh regions of that state always take longer and they lean blue. That's why Fox News has been saying since the 3rd that PA is the state to watch because the gap always closes.

Many of these numbers are 'projections'. Even the electoral votes differ from one news media to the next. The electoral does no actually vote for another month. So being projections, you will get variation. Generally projections are pretty accurate but they are not official by any stretch. Even when all the 'final' numbers are in and a winner is declared, it will not truly be official until the electoral meets and votes and declares a winner. Also keep in mind that not every electorate is obligated to vote the way the citizens they represent voted.

The electoral college is included in the constitution and was designed to act as a buffer between the voters and protect against “the tyranny of the majority” to ensure “that the office of President will never fall to the lot of any man who is not in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications.” Alexander Hamilton

But that is a whole different argument.
