When things don't go your way: just prematurely declare victory, demand legitimate ballots be ignored, and claim fraud? (elections, elect)

This is the conservative / Trumpian playbook for elections now?
These kinds of antics are exactly the quasi-authoritarian wannabe "strongman" nonsense that make me so opposed to him in the White House in the first place. It's disgraceful, and should be inconceivable for any President who has sworn an oath to uphold the laws of this nation.
In this country, we count all the votes that were legitimately cast - and yes, mail-in is legitimate and has repeatedly been shown to not be "corrupt" as Trump falsely claims (btw about 25% of 2016 ballots were mail-in, didn't see him mind then). And we ultimately abide by the result, whether we like it or not. And if you're going to tear down our core institutions with claims of "fraud," then you damn well better have some hard data to back it up.
So by all means, do a recount and check for fraud, and if there is any then let's handle it accordingly. But if there is none, then count the damn votes and live by the results. People whined and complained in 2016 and said "not my President," but in the end Donald will have been President of the USA for four years if he doesn't get reelected, just like he was elected to be. The deal was fulfilled.
Thankfully we at least have some Republicans with integrity to call this out, like Tom Ridge and Mike DeWine.
Trump is a sad man. I’d feel sorry for him if he were not a pure Narcissist.
