They're in for a long, long day. And they deserve our gratitude.

Done and done.

They made it a pleasurable and easy experience considering the circumstances.

My district was on point today.

Arrived at my polling station at 6:30 to find a line that was a quarter mile long. Polls opened at 7 a.m. and I was out the door at 7:30.

Pretty much a thankless job I would think.

We usually do the absentee vote thing but this year we're going to hand deliver ours. I like to fill it out at home and just drop it off. I'm hoping the lines to get in and out aren't too bad today. The company I work for will let you take time off from work and will pay up to four hours. Not too bad. I'm not sure my vote is even going to matter really. LOL. CA votes very very blue with all 55 EC votes going to the Dems. This year I ain't voting blue. More of a symbolic vote on my part I suppose.

When I voted early, I thanked them. Always have, every election. They help keep our country going.

Polls, Lithuanians, Montenegros...hell even Canadians for that matter, I appreciate all the hard work they do.

I always thank the poll workers. It's one of the joys of voting in person.

i was right with you until you said Canadians. I will never forgive them for the abomination of "Canadian Bacon" and to top if off if you try to argue with them about it they are so dang polite its infuriating. And Moosehead Beer, please....

Although Mounties are pretty cool, don't judge me.

I do, and wish them a nice day. We're always glad to see each other. This is a small town, and these nice ladies at the polls must have umpteen grandkids at the high school where I work (I'm a cafeteria cook), on various sports teams. They never miss a banquet. I always arrive to vote right after work, in my cafeteria scrub outfit, and they always recognize me without my having to give my name. They never fail to ask what's on the menu for the next banquet, and how much they enjoyed the roast beef/stuffed shells/Italian sausage, etc. at the last one. I missed them asking today...the last banquets we had seem a million years ago (last spring's banquets were cancelled due to the Covid), and the upcoming ones this year are iffy).

Why? Don't they get a salary for being there? My sibling does. I did take her lunch.

It has been very quiet - lots of folks already voted.
