I think there's a disparity between what Trump-groupies think and what everyone else thinks. Democrats don't, in general, need to go to rallies. It's just not something seen as beneficial, especially during a pandemic. Most republicans also don't need to attend rallies. It's really a tiny percentage of voters who like this sort of thing, and since Trump is a great showman and puts on an entertaining performance, those people will flock to him like teenage girls to Justin Bieber (or whoever the teeniboppers flock to now... well, before Covid, anyway).
I understand why it's confusing... you can often gauge how popular a performer is based on how many attend their concerts/shows. But presidential candidates are not (usually) performers. Trump is the exception, for sure. So he has groupies who go to as many rallies as they can kind of like how some people love to go to every concert put on by their favorite performer, and when he goes to a particular city, some people who are looking for a fun show will go so they can chant, scream, yell, and act like they're at a professional wrestling match. Sounds like a fun way to spend an evening! Those who don't see the presidency as performance art don't need to attend shows, though... they just need to show up at the polls and vote.

Lol! There were thousands for Obama’s rallies, and even Hillary had more then Biden.

But those didn't take place during a pandemic. The pandemic is a major player here. And I doubt people were literally following Obama or Clinton around the country wearing their political t-shirts and chanting and screaming. Trump's rallies are pure entertainment.
I’m sure the demonstrations and riots caused just as much or more then Trumps rallies.
Plus no burning down cities, businesses and people's lives.
