Right, they usually do not address the people directly (they say the politicians, the government, the system etc.), but if everything about a place is negative, would you love the people/culture there (if there is no other way to obtain knowledge)?
Give me a break. In the other china thread you posted incessantly how the American founding population is basically a land stealing, genocidal people. How would you feel about an American who thought that way of the Chinese and was only there because it was easier to make money?

After all, everyone likes money.

On the other hand, even if you consider China a foe, it is a very important country in the world. Do you think it is really good for America to be ignorant about it? (How many college educated Americans can name five Chinese cities, or know 10 Chinese words?)
You're right. It is cruel that the communist Chinese government holds it's people back from enjoying the benefits of greater and freer flowing wealth. It's too bad the Chinese have to move to America to enjoy the benefits of capitalism in all it's glory. But that's the world we live in today.

As for college educated Americans not knowing anything about China... They go to school to learn about things that will earn them a good career and good salary. Why would they want to learn more about a place that depresses American wage earning potential, robs it's own people of prosperity, suppresses free speech, which college students claim to love? Everything about China disgusts the liberal minded, except the way China depresses Trump supporter's income earning potential, in their mind anyways.

If I owned a television and watched the news, I'm sure every story about Trump would be negative. It has brainwashed a sizable chunk of the American population and turned them against the president. No one hated him when he was just a billionaire celebrity that had a television show. So welcome to the world that Trump supporters live in. Perhaps you can understand why some are a little upset about it and want to make some changes.
