Not a dam word about the 230 thousand Americans that died of the virus though.....Oh that's right he says "we are rounding the corner on that" didn't he?
Don Jr. said that number is "nothing".
What does he think is going to happen now that his administration has lost the parents of over 500 kids? Real smart.
About 20,000 died from COVID. The rest were dying of something else and tested positive for COVID.
As part of DÃa de los Muertos activities in Latin cultures November 1st is often considered a day of remembrance for innocents who died. In that context Trump’s pronouncement makes perfect sense.
Maybe anecdotal, maybe not, but I am a hospice nurse for a large regional healthcare system. Since early this year we have had several elderly patients contract covid and die, obviously increasing the numbers. However...to even be on hospice services federal law requires that two competent physicians sign documentation stating that if your condition follows its expected trajectory, you have six months or less to live. Many of these people were well into that six month prognostic period to begin with and very close to death when they contracted covid so...DID they die from covid, since they were dying anyway?
It's pretty silly to "self shame" for something that someone else did in a previous century.
My ancestors fought for the Union Army to free the slaves. I also don't take credit for that, it wasn't me dodging those bullets, sleeping on the ground, and subsisting on hardtack and coffee.
Everyone owns their own actions and the shame or pride for those actions dies with them.
Mine too, family says we lost a few Uncles fighting for the North. Haven't once asked for reparations or a simple Thank You from a black person. They would tell me to Foff and call me crazy. And they would be right.
