Below is a video of what Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham and other Republicans have said in the past regarding electing a Supreme court Justice in a Election Year.

At the time these comments were made, the President was a Democrat.

Please watch this short video (its only 4 minutes) in its entirety. There is no opinion in the video. There is no commentary. Therefore, there is no bias that can be claimed. This video is just strictly the words of each respective Republican Senator.

What reason was given by these Republican's for not selecting a chief Justice in an election year?
When polled through the multiple polls that have been done recently, what do the majority (Republican, Independent and Democratic) say should happen?

Aren’t the Democrats also saying the opposite of what they did in 2016? You seem to have left that out. Probably on purpose.

Wow, all is quiet from the Trump supporters. I guess that’s because the video pretty much speaks for itself.

Obama didn't have the votes in the Senate to confirm his nominee. Trump does. Get over it.

The video does speak for itself.

Will the President and the Republican Senate members be true to their word (see video in OP) when this issue came up last election? Will the President and the Republican Senators listen to the voice of the majority of Americans on this current issue or will they attempt to rush / pigeon hole a pick in right before this election this year because they see the polls? We shall see on the next episode of the Reality TV show "America Turns", with Reality TV star turn President, Donald Trump.

What Harry Reid said in 2013...

Quoting comments

Can't stop laughing at this. Because of Harry Reid's actions, President Trump has successfully appointed 2 Associate Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States, 51 judges for the United States Courts of Appeals and 138 judges for the United States District Courts- all young Conservatives screened by the Federalist Society.

They make it sound nice but this actually just gives the majority party dictatorial powers, and that's not right. Democrats support this now, but what about when Republicans have the majority? This isn't the way the Senate is supposed to work.

What a shame...

Comment #2 is correct. I say as soon as RBG's replacement is voted in, they should put the old rules back in place.
