Most large companies update their logos every few years. For example, the logos for Microsoft, Apple, Pepsi, etc. are constantly evolving. Heck, even old-fashioned logos like Land O'Lakes Butter and Johnny Walker's whiskey has been recently updated: https://vinepair.com/wine-blog/a-vis...ding-man-logo/
This is simply good business practice. It's about time some of these outdated logos got a fresh new look, it was way overdue if you ask me.
Plus, updating corporate logos on a regular basis keeps designers and the advertising/marketing business sectors employed, which I am personally thankful for. It's helping to keep me in business right now, thank you very much.

Activists across the country cheered as another pop culture icon of color was removed this morning. "We worked hard to achieve this goal, and the day is finally here," Faucett said. "But our work is not done. We must be vigilant to hunt down people of color on butter tubs, syrup bottles, cartoons, and bags of rice, and take them out of the public consciousness."
"When only white people are shown as mascots, cartoon characters, and brand logos, we will have truly arrived at our diverse, racism-free future."
Yeah that's got to go too, seeing how it perpetuates stereotypes of transvestites that are visually indistinguishable from actual women until Chiquita shows you her banana.
Reminds me of a song we sang in elementary school, back in the '60s:
I'm Chiquita Banana and I'm here to say
To get rid of your teacher the easy way
You put a banana peel on the floor
Any watch your teacher go through the door.
