Banning guns will not work. Mexico has banned guns, yet its the murder capital of the world. More people need to be allowed to pack heat in more places. These nuts pick places that are "gun free".

That is because tons of firearms are smuggled into Mexico from their northern neighbor every year. They export Avocados to us and we give them our guns.
So you want to go back to the "good ole" days of the wild west with everyone packing heat. That will only increase gun violence.
The semiautomatic rifle used in the shooting at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in California is illegal to own in California, where the killings took place. But it had been bought legally in neighboring Nevada. We need sensible federal gun control legislation. That is the only way to reduce gun violence.

Given how the Federal government has behaved in the past few decades, such as that sit in during the Obama administration, can one honestly believe that they can create sensible legislation?
The biggest obstacle to reducing gun violence are the gun nuts and the thugs at the NRA.
Notice I didn't say gun owners are the problem. Most responsible gun owners support sensible gun control legislation.
As I've said before, the gun nuts are paranoid losers who attach a sense of grandeur to their otherwise pathetic/boring lives by believing they have a sacred duty to defend the Republic from the boogeyman of a tyrannical government.
Anything to make eating every Friday night at Applebee's with their obese wives seem exciting and meaningful.

Well, TONS of firearms are smuggled into the US every year too, probably close to the same amount of illegal drugs that come into the US every year!
My father is a military vet and grew up responsibly shooting guns as a hobby. Though, he hasn't owned a gun in over 30 years.
He has ALWAYS supported sensible gun control measures and is disgusted by the leadership at the NRA. He is old enough to remember the NRA before they became politicized and irresponsible.
