Listen to these socialists whine from their shining pedestal of morality. Happiness would reign across the land if all would simply recognize the glory of uplifting the oppressed worker! Ha!

You blew it in NY. You lost 25000 jobs which would've generated two billion dollars per year of tax revenue alone. 25000! Rubes.

The profits go to the shareholders, i.e., the owners of the business. That's exactly what should happen, as that is exactly the purpose of business - create, sustain and grow profits for the owners of the business.

One candidate cannot pass a law. It takes 218 reps, 51 senators and the President to make a public law. Public laws are not "loopholes" but a set of regulations exactly everyone is bound by. You confuse "knowing the law" for some sort of chicanery or trickery. Nothing "loophole" about complying with the law as written.

Stop taxing income period. How about that? If the government must tax, consumption taxes allow the individual to have far greater control over their tax basis.

How about individuals paying for their own health insurance and care? Amazon offers benefits exactly as required under the law, and according to employee survey averages, achieve a 4-4.2 stars out of 5 rating on their overall benefit structure.

Also, nobody is forced to work for that company. If the overall compensation and benefits do not appeal to someone, they should seek employment elsewhere.
Good post. Truth.

Where are you getting 11 Billion and no tax paid? That's wrong no matter if they are allowed to play accounting games. Please post your source that states they make 11B and pay no tax.
No shortage of sources. Here’s one:

Amazon Will Pay Whopping $0 In Federal Taxes On $11.2 Billion Profits | Fortune

Right or wrong, it’s legal.

Congress/ Trump reduced the corporate tax rate, making it even easier for some corporations to avoid Federal taxes.

I shop at Amazon. what this means is, I (as in ME) do not pay hidden taxes that I am not aware of when I buy stuff from amazon.

Amazon doesn't ever pay taxes. No company pays taxes. every single business in the WORLD collects money from their customers above and beyond the cost of production and profit to turn over to the taxing authority.

period. Not a debatable point.

you are either for hidden taxes collected by businesses, that are regressive in nature because they impact the poor far more than the rich, or you aren't.

Of course Jeff Bezos NEEDS a tax break, how could he possibly get by on the hundreds of BILLIONS he already has?!?!?! God forbid he might offer affordable healthcare to his workers... better to just let us (taxpayers) pay for them.

Trump and the Republicans are just out to lunch when it comes to the American worker.

AOC is on to something.
I agree.

What we are witnessing is the brutal rape of America (thanks to the Republican shills for the rich and their dark money) and battles of the billionaires over the sloppy seconds.

This is exactly the results the "tax cutters" want. I hope every Trumpie is subscribing to the WaPo (Amazon owned) and buying some stuff at Amazon today......After all, Bezos may hit 60 or 70X what their King is worth as opposed to only 50+ X.

Some place have good enough economies that they don't need to bow to giants. Of course, other places have to invite the Chinese, Koreans and Europeans to please build factories...and give them billions in tax breaks.

Believe me, the NYC area will not notice the difference...not a bit.

It's a 1.5 TRILLION dollar regional economy. Amazon is a rounding error.

There is not much information in the linked article. Time to do some digging to see what is what.

But But....you will help Bezos make money and NOT pay any taxes. That in itself has high value.

I mean, if you promote him making money and not paying taxes...you are effectively financing him anyway....much bigger than a sub to the WaPo.

And, if you sub, you can use the comment sections to spread the news!
