The article speaks (bad) volumes about the BBC.

And what about fat people? Short people? Redheads? Shouldn't the BBC have a quota for them too?
------------
One in six of all on-screen BBC roles must go to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender or disabled people by 2020, the corporation's new diversity targets state.

In a bid to deter criticism that it has been failing to reflect its audience, the BBC has pledged that LGBT and disabled people will each make up eight per cent of all on-air and on-screen roles.

I have always supported scrapping theTV Licence fee, a fee which subsidises not just the BBC but other channels as well such as Channel 4.

Let them raise money through advertising revenue and other means, but stop knocking on peoples doors and demanding they have a licence fee to fund a load of politically correct nonsense.

In an age of satelite tv, the internet, live streams and ever more digital technology forcing people to pay a tv licence is draconian.

Sure, people who are not no-White straight males could use more representation in the English-speakingmedia. However, it makes sense to make an original character of that demographic and not gender-bend or race-bend a character to appease such diversity. Also, not every show or movie has to have a straight White male, women, PoC, LGBT, or indigenous person.

So, when interviewing someone for a role or job, will the interviewer now be required to ask what a person's race and sexual identity are, and whether he or she has any disabilities?

I might be behind the times, but I thought asking such questions was illegal or at least an invasion of someone's privacy.

I think they should establish quotas for other people. Quotas for short people, fat people, ugly people, people with bad teeth, people with no hair, etc.

Why does the BBC hate fat people?

There needs to be new legislation whereby equality under law means the best person for the job and is not about discriminating against any group including white people.

It's the same with Universities, want equality then don't set quotas, just require information such as exam results and not what school you went to or where you live ot your race.

Organisation s shouyld be looking at less information regardring quotas and be looking at the right people for the job.

As for the bloated BBC with it's Five Orchestras, BBC Singers, World Service, a large Digital Platform, Numerous Television and Radio Channels and a massive new HQ in Manchester, it's time it stood on it's own two feet and stopped relying on taxpayers money. Left leaning Channel 4 which is currently building a vast new HQ in Leeds, is also a British public-service television broadcaster, and needs to be privatised. The wages these organisations pay to management and stars out of tax payers money are also disgusting.
