If the rights of “hayseeds” are trampled on so the urban left can dictate to us we “hayseeds” who control the rural areas could simply cut off and starve the city slickers into submission. The second American revolution is likely very easy for us to win. Go ahead and try to rewrite the constitution. The best thing to happen to us is for your side to start the war, then we won’t have to feel bad about what happens AND we will get to correct our nation our way.

wrong

without the EC hitlery would have won..ONLY because of California

hitlery took the "popular vote" by 2.8 million...she got 4.3 million more votes than trump in California alone..which means the FACT is that under a "popular vote scheme" California would RULE the rest of the 49 states... California would be the deciding factor

I don't want California DICTATING its wannabe dictator to the rest of the country

As you're well aware, the country's appetite for continued minority rule is diminishing.

The EC is going away. Not soon, maybe.

But this 18th century relic is eventually going to the scrap heap.

What, by using superdelegates? The Republicans have a giant share of morons that run, but they all get to run on a free and fair field of battle.

The Democrats need to moderate and quit trying to push 49% of the population into a deplorable corner. Those superdelegates are going to pick an elite insider every time. Who in their right mind was going to run against Hillary? She had almost all of the Superdelegates on day 1....you want to call that democracy?

Right now the middle is wide open for either party to grab, but both have a lot of work to do with themselves.

Maybe it is, but I'm not arguing that we need to change something to reduce disenfranchisement But then saying, I'll only fix my part when everyone else fixes theirs.

If disenfranchisement is the issue, it's the issue, resolve it. If it's such a low priority you need groundswell support across multiple states to resolve your part, then the political will either isn't there, or the motivation is not what is being claimed, but is a convenient excuse.

I have tried to explain the part in bold more than once, and way too many people on both sides still don't seem to get it. Eliminating the EC would not give inordinate power to any state, it would give equal power to each individual voter, regardless of location.
