It's doomed anyway. It's doomed because the media is completely dishonest and is not reporting what is really going on, which is that one political side has done something really horrible to win and when the lost, they are weaponizing the government to bring down the opponent instead of fighting fair. I am a democrat and I thought the President was super reasonable in his speech and at times seemed the most Presidential I have ever seen him. He did a good job in a hard situation and he definitely put country before personal wants.
It's just too bad that this nation has been paying the ultimate price for 2 years now because some drunken old hag didn't get her turn.
I am glad he agreed to open the government and think he deserves kudos for doing so. It was the right thing to do. I still don't care for him as president overall, but I have a slightly better opinion of him now.
So if ISIS released hostages, you'd give them "kudos" for doing the right thing?
It's not like Trump wanted to re-open government. He backed himself into an unwinnable position. He shouldn't get "credit" for caving.
