He doesn't even know how to play checkers. Chess you have to think before you move. He goes with whatever comes to mind at that moment, then watches TV and changes it.

If he allows the government to open up first he will get nothing as Pelosi and Schumer already said NO WAL! Only leverage? The hold everything but the house. Trump is just a whiny child trying to get things done the easy way. He didn’t even try to get this passed in his first two years. Want to see how to get something like this done? Look at LBJ and Medicare. At the beginning of his administration he proposed a new version of the King-Miller bill, he worked with congress on drafting various versions of it until he could get it passed by both parts of congress. This involved committees, hearings, expert testimony, and so on. It takes time to do something right. At no point did LBJ hold nearly a million Americans citizens hostage to try to go around the process. Trump has neither the skills nor mindset to actually govern, as evidenced by the fact that his first attempt to get the wall was a shutdown.
Democrats could demand a pathway for dreamers in return for increased border security spending. This shouldn’t be too hard as the Dems already say they support border security. We could beef up the ports of entry, increase and repair existing barrier, hire more border patrol, use technology. Who wouldn’t support that?
That is not what Trump wants. McConnell won't present it.
When the Dems won the House. NK hasn't denuclearized. Coal jobs haven't come back. Obamacare hasn't been repealed. There isn't a monument to Trump on the southern border.
The mandate is gone which means one isn't forced to participate.
McConnell will not bring anything to the floor for a vote unless it has 5.7 like Trump demands.
McConnell is now part of the Executive Branch? When did this happen? Surely, you aren’t suggesting the SENATE majority leader is abdicating his Constitutional duties purely for Party.
