In 2016, Snowden’s counterpart in the Senate, Pro Tem Terry Burton, R-Newton, was found not guilty of a DUI charge in Scott County. He said cough syrup he took right after a wreck resulted in a “false positive” being recorded on his breathalyzer test.

Representative Patrick Kennedy (D-R.I.) pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol and prescription drugs after a late-night car accident.
Two charges of reckless driving and failure to exhibit a driving permit were dismissed by the government in exchange for the guilty plea. But Magistrate Judge Aida Melendez wasn't completely satisfied with the plea deal between Kennedy and the government and therefore imposed a $300 fine and 10 days in jail if Kennedy breaks his 12 month probation.
Meanwhile Ted Kennedy walked away scot-free after leaving a women to drown. Which didn't seems to bother liberal Massachusetts voters at all.
