There was no official fine. A government body would never fine someone this much.

The people removed value from the company because they do not like what Facebook is doing.

Zuckerberg is a leftist hero?? Ok then....

Facebook and the data they gleamed from watching what you watched was blamed for gathering that data and selling it to those who were able to create targeted political advertising in key states. Thus Donald Trump became President.

To stop that backlash of it being "our vault" Facebook announced that they would stop doing their actual business, the collecting and selling that data on you. But still people were mad at them and figuratively fining Facebook by refusing to use its site. Without the revenue from selling data about you and fewer people on the site being exposed to the advertising on Facebook the investors looked and saw the Facebook Emperor wore no clothes, that there was no money in running a free individual bulletin board site and the investors started to sell trying to get out with pennies on the dollar of the pre election worth of Facebook.

So now Zuckerberg can't have the types of foundations like Bill Gates does unless he was properly diversified in his investment portfolio.

I've never had one either but I've seen some articles explaining how to do it. I think they may have made it easier, but I'm not positive about that.

I'm surprised the original post went over so many heads. It's a gag - because they lost money. In other words, the government doesn't have to fine them, the market will make it's own correction.

Im not sure why you believe anything you just said.

I have never heard anyone argue Zuckerburg is a leftist hero other than conservatives.

Its a flaw premise either way.

Facebook lost "Value", not a single dime in actual revenue.

And even that lost value will be regained seeing as Facebook is still growing, the lose happened because they missed projections.

The problem with your argument is that much of the "user activity" that has diminished was fake accounts.

All these security corrections may in fact make facebook more profitable in the long run if they can prove to advertisers they are reaching more real people
