The leaders of North and South Korea,Kim Jong-un and his counterpart from the South, Moon Jae-in.
“This summit has put even greater expectations, greater hype and greater pressure on Trump,” said Victor D. Cha, a Korea scholar at Georgetown University who was considered by the Trump administration to be ambassador to Seoul. “He hyped this meeting with his tweets, and now the entire focus is going to be on his negotiating prowess.”
But Mr. Trump is only one of three actors in this drama, and perhaps not the most crucial one. Mr. Moon, a progressive former human rights lawyer, ran for office on a platform of conciliation with the North and has moved aggressively to deliver on that promise. He, not Mr. Trump, has set the pace and terms of the negotiation with the North, though American officials say that Seoul is closely coordinating with Washington. As always, though, the wild card is Mr. Trump himself. As Two Koreas Talk Peace, Trump
Kim and Moon are negotiating peace without one bit of help from Trump! It started before the Olympics.
You and I both know that Trump supporters (and Trump himself) will say this change is solely because of Trump, but that is insane.
Nope, and even the SK president says he helped. Do you need the definition of helped?

Who knows what the real outcome of this will be, but we can be hopeful...........hopeful but cautious.
Sanctions....but don't let facts get in the way.....

They would never even be talking if it wasn't for Trump.
Denying that Trump was/is the central figure in this just shows how absolutely petty the democrats truly are.
I have a feeling that as time passes, we will find out just how much Trump did to get us to this point.
Kim apparently has a long history of reneging and not honoring commitments.
Actually, he and Trump are alike in that way.
"Apparently"? He is a thirtysomething that has been in power for six years. Does your memory not stretch that far back?
"Long history"? I think you are either very young, physically, or mentally.

UN sanctions to be precise; they've been in place for a while but China never participated, until very recently...UN, the organization that Trump wants the US to defund.
Kim Prepared to Cede Nuclear Weapons if Trump. Pledges Not to Invade]
SEOUL, South Korea — Keeping diplomatic developments coming at a head-snapping pace, the South Korean government said on Sunday that North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong-un, had told President Moon Jae-in that he would abandon his nuclear weapons if the United States agreed to formally end the Korean War and promise not to invade his country. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/29/w...p-nuclear.html
Lyndon Baines Johnson did nothing-1968 North Korea captured the USS Pueblo, killed 1 sailor and tortured 83 others for 11 months.
Richard Milhous Nixon did nothing-1969 North Korean fighter jets shot down a U.S. Navy Lockheed EC-121M Warning Star of Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron, killing all 31 people.
William (Baba BJ) Jefferson Clintonn-1994, North Korean shot down a Army OH-58 Kiowa helicopter killing one of the pilots and capturing the other.
Presidents Johnson (1968), Nixon (1969) and Bill Clinton (1994) did nothing to retaliate against NK (Nixon (did think about nuking North Korea).
Truman was the only POTUS with Cojones (besides Trump) that did squat to prevent North Korea from getting to where it is today.
BJ Baba Clinton gave North Korea 4 billion worth of nuclear tech. 2 light-water nuclear reactors , economic benefits in exchange for the stopping of North Korea’s nuclear program in 1994. It was a Joke North Korea laughed all the way to the bank as they continued Atomic Bomb development. George W. Bush labeled NK 1 of the 3 three Axis of Evil in 2002 it was proven that North Korea had continued to build nuclear weapons.
Barry Soetoro Hussein obama's bogus 2009 sanctions against North Korea led to North Korea testing it's first nukes
Brings us to today North Korea 04/29/2018- Trump is not backing down eff-you rocketman Trump put 2 Carrier task forces, several Ohio-class ballistic missile Boomers and several Virginia class hunter killer submarines along with flotilla of other countries ships off North Korea's coast which gave Rocket Man's sphincter spasms and China ohhh crap and is now backing UN sanctions and has made it clear that if Rocket Man is on his own
The Korean War never ended - CNN.com
New York (CNN) -- The Korean War began 60 years ago on June 25, 1950, and it still hasn't ended. Fighting on the Korean Peninsula may have stopped with a cease-fire in July 1953, but North and South Korea are in a armed truce ever since, with open warfare just a hair-trigger away.
Trump with his yugge Cojones will bring a true end to the Korean War and PeaceMAGA

The toxic presence of Trump, could only sabotage the negotiations for peace, that are occurring now. You can be sure that Trump will try his best, to take all the credit, but the world will grant him nothing. The South Korean President, seems like the most likely Nobel Peace Prize winner. He was elected on a platform to achieve reunification and has been working towards that, for a long time.
If Trump tries to stick his nose into the proceedings and fouls them up, it will be just one more of the long string of destructive actions he has been wreaking on our country and the whole world. Everything has to be all about him. He cares nothing about the welfare of anyone else.
Both China and the U. S. are being rapidly pushed out of the picture in Korea now, which is as it should be. For the past 70 years, both these huge countries have been knocking Korea around, like it was a ping-pong ball. But Korea has suffered, not benefited, from this. If the two parts of that country are able to resolve their differences, the world should endorse that and contribute resources, but keep their hands off of any control they might want to gain there.
Maybe the Leader of NK figures he has shown the world he is fully capable of producing nuclear weapons, and so he now wants to rejoin the world.
Mind, you have to keep an eye on a young man that had his uncle killed at the mouth of a cannon. However, perhaps he has 'seen the light'. More likely, China has (indeed, perhaps due to Trump) truly leaned on NK to achieve peace.
As I noted, perhaps the Young Leader wishes to travel the world and taste of its pleasures, including seeing in person American Basketball.

You must not have any knowledge of the history of Korea since 1950 to have made the statement in bold. Compare South Korea (under the protection of the United States) in 1953 (the "end" of the Korean War) with how it is today. Now, compare North Korea (under the "protection" of China) in 1953 with how it is today. Now compare South Korea today with North Korea today.
It takes nothing away from the incredibly hard work of the South Korean people, who built their country from literal ruins up to an economic powerhouse, to say that NONE of it would have been possible were it not for the protection of the United States.
