As I said earlier, follow the lobbyists. My hunch is that this is ultimately going to be what a lot of this investigation is about.
Remember, also: lobbyists like Manafort are intimately involved with BOTH sides of the aisle. Again, this isn't a partisan issue; it's an American issue.
Looking through the new indictments, I see we now have a new "A" -- "Lender A." No doubt that is Stephen Calk and his Chicago bank. But there are also a "Lender B" and "Lender C" in the indictments. Follow the money indeed!
It appears that new charges in the Manafort case may have been filed. Im guessing Gates has flipped and we are seeing the first results of that information.

Several of the likely sources that gave Steel info for the dossier were killed after they were outed--
Some suspect Trump spilling info to Russians brought that about
So I think Manafort knows better a life under the jail than a target on his back
