How do you know that people from poor countries who come over here don't end up contributing to society here?
And believe me, this country can't be set back any further than it is already.
So we should import a lot of poor, uneducated and unskilled immigrants and hope that some will end up contributing to our society? That's like betting on a long shot at the races. We can't afford the gamble. Make sure those we allow in are already vetted and have proven they won't be a burden to us. That's what makes sense and is far less of a gamble.
Except that if that was true, then those immigrants wouldn't need to come here. This isn't magic dirt. The people who you claim are "hard workers" are coming to gain from the surplus jobs, economy, and, well civilization of the people who you claim "can't compete". If and when those people who "can't compete" move away from those "hard workers", the "hard workers" will follow those who "can't compete".
If the people who "can't compete" were "losing out on college admissions" to the kids of the "hard workers", then their schools wouldn't be lost causes (everyone knows it but can't admit it lest they get scolded), they wouldn't need affirmative action, they wouldn't need a dumbing down of curriculum in general to include gifted programs.
Lol... Here's one of the non-competitors. Your first sentence already outed you as one of the native-borns whose clock is getting cleaned by these immigrants. You're a lost cause. Hopefully one of these immigrants can tutor your kids to be better.
Half the country will love that he said this because half the country says the same thing. We've let in tens of millions of third world immigrants and the only thing it has accomplished is to make us more third world.
The USA is turning into a s-hole itself for letting all these people in.
He could have said that, and that would been the right way to say it. Honesty, and a solution, without being a bigot or a bully. However, I think some people like that President Trump said what he said. Why? Because those persons think that way themselves. Some people feel that way in their heart, but won't come out and say it around certain people. Some people really are bigots and racists, and feel that Trump gives them license to be open about it.
What do you mean "think that way"? no serious person believes that Somalia or Haiti are better places to live than Norway. It has nothing to do with race, Moldova and Romania are terrible places to live too, it's just a truism. You're getting all bent out of shape about an obvious truth.
Actually, people with decency are in full effect. You can say "we need to control our borders" or "we need to enforce our immigration laws" without being coarse and petulant. You can get the truth across without being nasty about it. Insulting other people's countries just shows a nasty, bully side of yourself, unless that is the style that you are looking for.
I get what you are saying. I think what you are witnessing is the further erosion of the Overton Window, out of frustration but also reactive strategy, because the prior understood rule to be polite was too often used as leverage to avoid having an actual debate. Before, if someone hurt someone else's feelings that was enough to pressure them into giving in. The nation, to include the President, has been essentially driven to the point where they are ready to explicitly attack the polite rule so that no more ground is given, unfairly, in its name. To stay in-effect, it would not have been used as leverage or otherwise as a bullying tactic - almost always to gain liberal ground. Instead, polite but honest, non-manipulative discussions would have occurred. What you are seeing is the erosion of a purely political mechanism that is in the way of reaching political level ground in this nation.
If the countries in question were not so undesirable people would not be trying to come to the US by the bucket loads.
Kind of trhe same reason so many people left Detroit since the 50s, no?

Can you explain?
Or is this purely aggressive trolling in the frame of an insult?
Do you even have a base for your argument, or is your entire platform absent of facts in regard to either my writing or your immigrant argument?
Corrupt, Crooked, Potty Mouthed, unpresidential and a big fat bigot.
