Can you separate Bill Cosby the accused rapist from Bill Cosby the comedian? (drug, abuse)

Seinfeld goes on to say that he can separate Bill Cosby the comedian from Bill Cosby the man who is accused of raping a long list of women. Colbert starts off by stating that Cosby was a huge influence on him. However, Colbert disagrees with Seinfeld and says the idea of Bill Cosby being a rapist precludes him from being able to enjoy his body of work.
Interestingly enough, Seinfeld later changes his mind and says he can't separate the two. Albeit due to pressure. Watch below:
Thus, I guess what I'm asking is do you still watch The Cosby show? Can you still watch Roman Polanski movies? What about Woody Allen, does he count too?
I wonder what was going on in Seinfeld's head during that commercial break. Was he genuinely thinking to himself that, no, he couldn't enjoy an old comedy album of Cosby's after all? More likely he was thinking, "Damn, I've really stepped in it here. I sounded like I think Cosby's rapes aren't that big a deal and I'm gonna take some heat for it on Twitter..."

Is there a particular reason why we are supposed to forget that Bill Crosby raped women by drugging them?
What is it? That he was from Hollywood?, that he won Emmys?, that he was a comedian? that he was a black icon?
At the end of the day - Bill Cosby was/is a rapist ...... that is exactly how I remember him and it is exactly what I think about that Leftist Icon - Harvey Weinstein. The abuse women, they rape women and they think they should be able to get away with that ...... Because they are "special".
