The Chicago Police have arrested the Killers of Nyklea Aldridge - niece of Dwayne Wade who tweeted ...

2 men charged in fatal shooting of Nykea Aldridge, Wade’s cousin |Chicago Sun Times

There was nothing "senseless" about this shooting & there certainly was a "Reason" - Nyklea Aldridge was gunned down while pushing a stroller at 3:00 in the afternoon BECAUSE these Gang Bangers were both out on Parole for previous Gun Crimes.

There is your "reason" - nothing "senseless" about it. Catch and Release in the way "Criminal Justice" operates in Cities like Chicago. She would be alive today if they hadn't let this killer out of prison in February.

Darwin Sorells, 26, and 22-year-old brother Derren, who are both documented gang members, were charged with first-degree murder overnight on Sunday, police said.
Both are repeated gun offenders, Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson confirmed, and both were out on parole at the time of the killing.
Speaking about Darwin, Johnson said he is a six-time weapon offender who was jailed in 2013 for six years for another gun crime but released on parole in February.

So why are these Repeat Offenders let go? The Chicago Politicians (all Democrats) won't allow stronger sentencing laws. It's not all Democrats and it's not all citizens that agree with this 'Catch & Release' program ..... people like Wade need to step up and give this a microphone. The fake BLM needs to step up and end this 'Catch & Release' mentality.

Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson said the suspects are an example of the city’s problem with repeat offenders, which he has spoken about frequently in recent months. Darwin Sorrells was sentenced to six years in prison in January 2013 on a gun charge and was released early on parole, while Derren Sorrells is a known gang member who also was on parole.

“They don’t care who they shoot and they don’t fear the consequences,” he said, noting as he has in the past that about 1,400 people are driving 85 percent of the city’s gun violence.

Chicago police, lawmakers seek tougher laws for repeat gun offenders | Associated Press - July 2016

Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson and state Sen. Kwame Raoul said Friday that new legislation the Chicago Democrat is introducing would ensure the criminals responsible for many of Chicago's shootings spend more time behind bars.

The measure would require judges to impose prison terms on the higher end of sentencing guidelines for offenders previously convicted of a gun crime. The existing guidelines would not change.

“Repeat gun offenders are driving the violence in Chicago,” Johnson said.

He added that Chicago police are working diligently to keep these offenders off the streets “but we need help from the justice system to hold them accountable for their actions.”

Gun control legislation has been difficult to pass in Illinois, where downstate Democrats often join with Republicans to support gun rights. In 2013 it was black lawmakers, most from the Chicago area, who derailed a measure that required stiffer penalties for felons and gang members caught with weapons.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel said it was a critical to combating gang violence, but the black caucus — joined by civil rights icon the Rev. Jesse Jackson — said it was too focused on locking up young men.
They argued lawmakers should be trying to improve education and jobs, not increase incarceration.

Where is the US Department of Justice on these "Repeat Offenders"? We KNOW where the Black Caucus is from this article - BUT do most of the citizens in Chicago know that it is their elected Leadership that is keeping these Killers on the street? Do D. Wade and his family know it?

This isn't "senseless violence" - the REASON is the Chicago Courts & Judicial System is soft on Repeat Gun Offenders -- THIS is Fixable.

I'm all for catch and release as long as we leave a hook in their mouths and a line anyone can pull.

A real hook and a real line.

And in this case we have gun rights advocates and the BLM types both hooking up. On the wrong side.

Wrong. Chiraq has gun control. It doesn't work. Simple as that. Many reasons why but 1 I can point out is CRIMINALS don't give a crap about the law. The other would get me banned so I will keep it to myself.

I think you read that wrong - the BLM folks and Leftists are the 'gun grabbers' that think guns walk up and shoot people - THEY are stopping legislation for jail sentences. THEY are the Jesse Jackson/Rev AL folks that are convinced that more MONEY & gun control will stop these Killers.

The Downstate (out of Chicago) Democrats, Police & Mayor want to stop the 'Catch & Release" system they have.

The problem is that many of these inner city gangstas think that they are the victims so they live their lives like they have nothing to look forward to. They expect to become a statistic at a young age so why not go out and "get theirs" before their ticket gets punched.

The liberal justice system and PC politics has given them a license to break the law time and time again and it is not until they kill someone outside their drug dealing gang banging enemies do they get any notice and the court takes them seriously.

So now the murderer who should have been slowed down and changed his ways at armed robbery or some similar crime goes to prison at he tax payers expense for the next 25 years to life, their gun crime goes on the statistic board for the gun grabbers to point at and the victim is dead.

There are some people who cannot be helped and they are a real danger to the rest of us who are just trying to survive.

How do other countries deal with the perpetual criminal and stop them before they kill?

It all starts with petty crime and the slap on the wrist along the way only has the perp. upping the anti until he kills someone leaving victims in his wake.

If the cops know of 1400 criminals who are responsible for 85% of the gun crimes why not target them and institute a stop and frisk policy. If you are caught with a illegal gun you go to jail PERIOD. The word will get around and they will stop carrying their guns and people lying dead from the cross fire will go down.

I guess the OP is trying to say there should be life sentence for every crime.

That's it in a nut shell.

Mayor Emanual has a long history of demanding tougher sentences for repeat offenders. Springfield ( state capital) is the problem.

In this particular shooting, Wade's cousin, Nykea Aldridge, mother of 4, was out for a walk, pushing a baby stroller. She was accompanied by an unnamed man with a gang affiliation, who was the target. Brothers missed the target and instead shot and killed her.

Don't know if her companion was the bio father of of any of her children, a neighbor, a relative or what.

Being in the physical proximity of or a relation to a gang member is a high risk proposistion.

This shooting happened in front of the Parkway Gardens housing project on the block with the most murders of any block in Chicago. Two opposing gangs have been fighting for control of the blocks for decades. Despite this, witnesses are far and few between. They either protect their own or are afraid of retaliation.

Nothing short of searching every one who enters or exits the block will put a dent in the violent crime.

Too bad Wade did not help his cousin leave the area. Then again, maybe she had other issues.

There are about 4000 LE on any given shift in Chicago. If 1400 repeat offenders were under 24/7 surveillance, it would reduce the manpower necessary for everyone else.

2 problems-a catch and release criminal justice system. And a dominant inner-city culture that places no value on human life, particularly the lives of black people.
