Why would people be up in arms about this? Plenty of stores and restaurants have single stall bathrooms. I'm female, not transgender, and I prefer them. Love the privacy.
Indeed. I love my privacy in the bathroom as well.
Try not to confuse people who are so ready to have a temper fit that they didn't stop to understand single stall (as in completely private and nobody else in the room no matter their gender)!

This is a GOOD thing. It's a single bathroom behind a door that locks. Not a bathroom with multiple stalls. The local Walmart here has one, marked "family". It's ideal for a mother with a young son, that she doesn't want to let go into the men's room alone, but is a little too old to be in a woman's restroom, or a dad with a young daughter, that he doesn't want to take into the men's room, yet doesn't want her going to the women's restroom alone. Also good for tg people, or people that are worried about the tg policy, or that have shy bladders.
Pandering to .05% of the of the gender confused population is stupid.

It is funny, and kinda crazy. I have a lot of social anxiety, so being in public is hard enough. Going to the bathroom in public is a nightmare for me, especially if there are several people in there already.

I think most people...gay, straight, trans, fluid, male, female, anything and everything in between..anxious, not anxious...in the end probably appreciates a private locked bathroom over a multi-stall situation in either the men's or women's rooms.

I definitely agree. I think a single stall bathroom is a fantastic idea. I really hope it catches on, because it's kind of hard to find one.
$20M for how many stores though? Hard to judge based on that figure alone.
According to the article "The bathroom expansion is a relatively minor adjustment. According to Target spokeswoman Katie Boylan, 1,400 of the company's 1,800 stores already have single-occupancy bathrooms. The remaining stores will be outfitted by early 2017."
