How the heck is this possible? One of my kids went for an internship with work permission from USCIS prior to having a green card and prior to becoming a citizen but was clearly told not to expect any job without a green card and that was NY company part of the Mercantile Exchange.

She bought a fake green card and SS# for a $ few hundred in Texas. Apparently GS did not e- Verify at the time. ( only a handful of states mandate e- Verify of all employees) Took the federal government a few years to question her tax returns.
This doesn't sound right. Mexico only sends over their rapists and other problematic characters!?
