Seems someone alerted him to the company he was keeping. It is his right to change his mind.
To think that movies that are included in something like this aren't in any way vetted is ignorant. There is a long process to get included. I've been involved with a small local event and you don't just get in.

Nothing at all to do with censorship. Wakefield can do his own promotion, de Niro is not all obliged to lend him his good name.
It's ignorant to think that just because someone allows someone a voice that they are supporting that voice.
Let Rep. Bill Posey (Fl.) release all the documents, that the CDC tried to shred (from Merck studies), to the general public. Should he be shut down also? The public doesn't have the right to know because it might go against the wishes of the CDC (former employees of Big Pharms), and the drug manufacturers like Merck?
This is a very big part of that film Vaxxed; the Coverup.
BTW, CBS Morning News today did an entire segment on the pulling of Vaxxed, and showed some clips. It's getting more publicity (spreading false information?) than it probably ever would have at the Tribeca Film Festival. Be careful what you wish for, medical professionals.
Should they be prevented reporting news? Silence journalists? Maybe their advertisers (Drug Mfgs.) won't like it?
The opposition to anyone questioning anything at all about vaccinations is so strong that this news is not surprising in the least. It's the most taboo topic of conversation with paid posters on the internet trying to shut down conversations, propaganda sites disguised as blogs trying to counter it, and so on and so forth. People are not allowed to have any opinion on this medical procedure other then "vaccinations are the best with absolutely zero problems!". Of course this movie was not going to be allowed to be shown at the film festival. Sad but true.
Be prepared for the usual suspects and medical deities to promote banning a film. What's next? Hiding vaccine court payouts and disregarding the fact that pharmaceutical companies are protected from lawsuits?
As for DeNiro, he did "cave." And that reveals him to be a big wimp because you know he hasn't changed any views he may have held.

<shrug> People have a right to choose who they wish wish to associate with, yes?
And there's a lot of people out of there who are directly or indirectly touched by autism who are very, very tired of the anti-vaccination crowd thinking that they have that territory staked out as theirs. Could be de Niro was alerted to the antics of Wakefield's supporters.

I've covered this. More than once already.

It has nothing to do with who is right concerning the movie. That should be left for discussions after the fact.
