It used to be okay for the CIA to assassinate, destabilize, and do "dirty tricks" like "Mission Impossible."
Then the Democrats went into a tizzy about the U.S. "being better than that."
And we've been losing ever since. If you're not serious, you'll lose. We've been losing since 1950. Losing in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.
I agree the US needs to be serious and have a "workable" strategy before they even engage, but part of the reason so much of the world hates America is because of the despicable things our Black Ops did around the world, the things you mentioned, which were certainly nothing to be proud of, and nothing but bad ever came from such detestable acts!

Yes I miss the good old days with all those success stories like Panama, Phillipines, Vietnam, Iran, Nicaragua, El Salvador our strategy has worked so well.
There is no winning in the ME, certainly by the US. If this alliance is just lip service we will see but it's a move in the right direction. There is no other choice, the US is not sending in ground troops, either they solve this with our support or not at all.

Yeah! Remember that time when we overthrow the rightfully elected of a middle eastern country only to support a murderous monarch who was then overthrown in an unforeseen coup by religious extremists who we then the sold missiles to and used the money to fund nun killing rightwing death squads Central America.

That worked out well didn't it?
Can you say our mainstream Republican and Democrat politicians are any smarter now?
That's why we need Trump.
Trump 2016!
Trump 2020!
As to your specific point. Mossadegh was a commie during the Cold War -- a chess game we needed to win. Carter could have helped the Shah but didn't. The CIA could have gone to Paris and assassinated the Ayatollah but didn't. Nicaragua? Another pawn in the Cold War.
Don't be so morally indignant.
The world is a cesspool no matter what we do or don't do.
We didn't want to do anything in 1914 and 1939, but we still got sucked into two world wars.
Saudi Arabia has been more then happy to fund terrorism world wide. Generally via their schools, and various religious institutions. All fun and games as they did not give the Saudi's a lot of grief, and focused some of their internal folks towards external issues. All good.
That all changed when ISIS started talking about taking over Saudi. Suddenly it was NOT all fun and games anymore. So what to do? Well....Saudi COULD have gone after them internally, or by themselves.....but a lot of its funded by rich Saudi Arabians. Well..crud. But an alliance like this allows them to shove money at the ISIS problem, and blame the coalition for stuff.
So yeah. Its all fun and games until your monster turns on you.

Pretty much. Terrorism is OK when the nation it threatens is *not* your own.
It isn't just the US that has spent the past decade or so provoking blowback.
Maybe we'll all learn to be a bit more careful about who we arm.
In a rare press conference, 30-year-old deputy crown prince and Defence Minister Mohammed bin Salman told reporters on Tuesday that the campaign would "coordinate" efforts to fight terrorism in Iraq, Syria, Libya, Egypt and Afghanistan, but offered few concrete indications of how military efforts might proceed. Saudi Arabia announces 34-state Islamic military alliance against terrorism
Saudi Arabia, one of the most oppressive radical Islamic nations there is[and where 15 of the 19- 9/11 terrorists were from], come on....Obama must have leaked this "joke" to the media!

You're going to have to be more specific. I mean...this may apply to more then a couple countries still.
