My question... Where?

I was just poking around the HUD housing website looking for information for home improvement grants and low interest loans. I have been told these products exist. So I think it can't hurt to look.

Well I stumble upon links for low income housing at local and state levels, including section 8 housing and grants. Every single one of them says they are currently closed to funding. My county handles 1200 section 8 certificates. That is really not a lot when you consider how many really low income families exist. Of course it says there is a wait list and they are not adding new applicants.

What good are all these programs if they are not being funded?

Why do you care? You have two houses. Have had multiple vehicles and brag about your savings and being financially successful.

Our poor don't die of hunger. Hospitals can't turn away our poor. The vast majority of our poor have a roof over their head, a cell phone, a television, a refrigerator, etc. etc.

Finally, capitalism allows someone who is poor to increase their economic situation.

If you're poor, you'd rather be US poor than poor in most other places in the world.

Not Naive at all.

Lets look at what we are saying.

For the most part Republicans are looked at as the party of Conservatism. Traditional conservatism wants smaller government. With conservatism you would say that you are better at solving your personal problems than the government can. Conservatism pushes an ideal that people are resilient and can accomplish great things if you can get Government out of their way.

Conservatism means: Smaller government, less intervention, more personal accountability. Less taxes, less Government, less regulation, less intervention. More freedom, more choices, the ability to choose the kind of life you want to live.

Liberalism does not believe that the individual can help themselves. Being liberal means that you want Government to fix your problems. You want Government to step in and pay for your housing when you can not make the rent. You want Government to feed you when you can not feed yourself. Do you want a cell phone? The Government can give you one. With liberalism you are looked at as though you do not know how to live. You are told how to act, what car to drive, how to eat. You are not smart enough to know what is best for you so the Liberal leadership will tell you what you can do. Guns are bad for you. The only people that should have guns are the liberal leadership. Fattening foods? You are too dumb to know that you should not eat that stuff. Moderation? No, Liberal leadership wants to take that away from you. Freedoms are a thing of the past with a true liberal leadership. You don't need freedoms. All you need are a place to live, food to eat, and clothes to put on.

Liberalism means: More government, more telling you how you are to live, More government accountability, more taxes, more laws, less freedom, fewer choices, no choice in the life you will have since Government will decide what kind of life you will live.

Both sides have poor people. Conservatism is saying that the war on poverty is a failure and the time has come to stop throwing money at it. Liberalism is saying that even though money has been pouring in to solve the problem or the poor, more money is needed to fix the problem. Liberalism has never been able to fix the problem of having poor people. Not a single poor person changed positions in life because they were offered a home, food, clothes, and now a cell phone.

You think what is happening in the U.S. is capitalism?

I would call it a belligerent Oligarchy working in consort with similar such around the world. Our economic might has evaporated and what is left is a large military. We have evolved in a society that mirrors that in Russia.

We are not discussing the differences between conservatism and liberalism. We are talking about differences between Republicans and Democrats (politicians) and there are none unless you believe words speak louder than actions.

That is what happens when people keep giving more and more control to the government.

Ok she's either a liar (shocking I know! CD!)

Or she's a crook.

Defrauding her country.

This is NOT what welfare is for. She is NOT a typical recipient, who needs it just to survive.

If I knew someone like that I'd report em in a heartbeat.

This is not true any longer, if it ever was.

Go to any major city in the US, and the homeless are everywhere.

You probably don't even see them anymore.
