This is a continual tactic of the enemies in that region. Use hospitals and schools as places to hide, assuming that the "humanity" factor will hinder others from bombing those types of facilities. They put their own people at risk with this strategy.
Afghanistan’s acting Defence Minister Masoom Stanekzai claimed on Monday that the hospital in northern city of Kunduz, which was bombed by US forces on October 3, was being used by Taliban insurgents fighting government forces.
“Taliban insurgents and possibly Pakistani operatives had used the Doctors Without Borders facility in the city of Kunduz as a safe place,” the Associated Press quoted Stanekzai as saying.
When we hear that a hospital or a school is bombed - you have to be patient, the truth will work it's way out.
And the Afghanistan Defence Minister would of course be an authentic unbiased source of "the truth working it's way out".
Here's the really big conundrum for all. Should you receive 'even accurate' intel a hospital engaged in the treatment of civilians and combatants in an area of combat is harbouring some enemy; do you bomb it while knowing civilians, non-combatants and foreign medical staff are also operating within?
This guy would say and do anything to assist his 'daddy war-bucks' ally from taking heat that might cause them to re-consider their mission.
He also said they will not allow an independent investigation by an arm's length entity.
Which statement do you think carries the most water as regards his motives.

Obama is a war criminal.
Bombing hospitals in Afghanistan, to supporting terrorists to overthrow a legitimate government in Syria. When are Democrats going to start calling Obama a war monger/war criminal, like they would if a Republican was doing these things.
Odd....I don't recall reading about dead Taliban fighters being pulled from the rubble.
You can bet your bippy that if the foreign doctors and nurses weren't witnesses to the events as they actually happened, the Afghanni military and others with an agenda of cover-up, would have gone in there and planted dead Taliban and weapons for a quicky photo op.
Two other problems existed for the Afghan military and government however:
One; the hospital was in an actual combat zone where no self respecting Afghanni military ever wants to be and
Two; they didn't have any 'handy' dead Taliban to instantly use as phony evidence in any case.
We may yet find more to this story but for now go with what's available and not the much-too-late-to-the-game bullcrap from an Afghan government talking head with his hand in your pocket.
