If taxes are at some of their lowest levels in history, and the wealthiest in this country are richer than ever, why hasn’t the growth in the wealth of the middle class matched that of the top 2%?

In a nutshell, because job growth in well paying jobs has been beyond crappy and raises have been nil for years due to abysmal policies perpetrated by this administration.

You don't pay taxes if you don't have work, so low tax rate is irrelevant.

The middle class has gotten smaller under Obama and the average household income has shrunk as well.

Now if you are a 1%ter, then you love Obama as you have done quite well.

It's only been 35 years. Give the policy more time to work. Geeze.

The middle class' economic status is not affected by just one factor such as a small difference in the tax rate on the top 1% of earners.

There are so many factors in our 15 trillion dollar economy that will have an effect on the middle class.

The ACA is a tax or is it a fine? I always have gotten a refund on my taxes at the end of the year but not with Obama administration I had to pay 1% of my gross income and all I got was this lousy Bronze plan so I don't get penalized again to pay for the have not's heath care.
A friend of mine who works in the insurance industry said here in Ohio business is booming and it isn't Obama's doing. Our governor has lowered taxes balanced the budget and created real jobs and he is running for President...

Because "trickle down" is the most absurd economic concept in history. It has never worked for the benefit of all and never will.

Dude, you really are clueless. Progressives (both parties) WANT globalism which favors outsourcing and offshoring. It also favors multinational shareholdings in the major corporations. Those shareholders don't give a crap about the workers in those companies. Tell me, how is the middle class supposed to increase their wealth when there aren't enough jobs for the middle class and the flood of illegal immigration is making it even worse? You sound young, you really should read Levin's book Plunder and Deceit, it was written for people like yourself.

Check your history. The low wage issue began well before Obama was even nominated.
