I am a citizen of the U.S. and this is basically how I view the U.S. now and how a number of people throughout the world especially Europe see us as a country. I think the U.S. is and has been the laughing stock of other parts due to these 3 societal things. Anybody want to respond either from the U.S. or outside.

Since I'd rather live here instead of Europe, I guess we're doing things better in my eyes.

Long live Texas.

Someone named Texas2008 is complaining about guns in the U.S? I'm pretty sure you can be ran out of Texas for saying something like that.

I'm happy and could care less what Europeans think.

I think you have accurately portrayed the views of left wing European politicians, but having lived in Europe for a number of years (as opposed to a visit), I think the average European has a much more positive view of the US than you know, and if the immigration laws were not so heavily skewed to counter/limit European immigration in favor of third world nations (particularly Latin and South American nations), the immigrations statistics alone would demonstrate many Europeans want to be here, and still view the US as a place of freedom and opportunity.

I'm pretty sure we fought a war because we didn't give a rat's behind what Europe thinks we 'should' do. We still don't.

I am a US citizen retired in Baja Mexico along with another 14,000 in the Rosarito area.

When in school I was required to take a test via memory while a Judge sitting on the bench will on occasion have to reach for a Law book to refresh his memory on a Law Code. There are TOO many Laws on the books that are stifling the freedom of movement in the US.

There are many countries that do not have the vast number of Laws and seem to exist for many many decades....granted they may not be as wealthy? as the US since they do not use the Police force as a Revenue source.

Problem with the US is that a person cannot do this or that w/o fear of Police action resulting in a $$$$ fine which brings some hard feelings and resentment.....Baltimore City Police past actions against the Black people is an example.

Okay, guess I will enflame some response.....no problem on my end....after all it is all over the TV News.

Would love to go on more but this is a public forum and I use my Real Name and am not hiding behind a user name.
