Police handcuffed several protesters in New York and Detroit on Thursday as they blocked traffic in the latest attempt to escalate their efforts to get McDonald's, Burger King and other fast-food companies to pay their employees at least $15 an hour.
A company called Momentum Machines has built a robot that could radically change the fast-food industry and have some line cooks looking for new jobs.
The company's robot can "slice toppings like tomatoes and pickles immediately before it places the slice onto your burger, giving you the freshest burger possible." The robot is "more consistent, more sanitary, and can produce ~360 hamburgers per hour." That's one burger every 10 seconds.

Did you hear about the new Windows Office software going to be released soon? It can do accounting, take notes by voice, even make business administration decisions by imputing equations. Now we can eliminate the pesky upper management positions and replace them with a laptop. Shoot get rid of the administration assistant too.
And i understand it has an good golf simulation game trial you can try.
How many people right here in C/D predicted this very thing when they mentioned raising the minimum wage to $10? The problem is not the minimum wage, the problem is the Democrats/Republican are owned by corporations so they were allowed to ship our good paying jobs overseas & replace them with service industry jobs. Still, to this day many aren't capable of seeing that "Globalization" is not some fair & equitable Progressive philosophy to bring poor, 3rd world workers up & out of poverty, it's about bringing US workers down to the level of the 3rd world workers. But at least it's fair then, right? If you want to be mad at someone, be mad at the corporate whores you voted into office over the past 25 years.
It's amazing how the right loves to stomp on the little guy.
They must have some serious self-esteem issues.
