Things might start to look like a theocracy with him in charge.

While that is true, the Governor does have some influence in appointing people to many statewide boards, commissions and other state agencies. Perry has been in office long enough such that just about every major state office head owes their appointment to him. All except perhaps the Travis County DA, and Perry tried to muscle her out...and it's backfired on him with that indictment for abuse of power.

Don't hear too much about Rick Perry, seems like all the political parties are playing it safe by keeping quiet until 2016! I pray the next administration has more success & less power battles than the current one!

Then pray for the majority in both houses of congress and the President to be from the same party. Otherwise, we will have four/eight more years of gridlock. While you're praying, pray they're not Democrats.

It would cost the taxpayers a fortune to put bars on the White House if Perry won. I guess we could manage it, though, if we feed him fried bologna and scrambled eggs three times a day.

Why bring up pointless hypotheticals? Even if he dodges jail time, an uber-Conservative is not going to win the White House anytime in the near future. Romney was much more moderate than Perry, and he still got beaten pretty easily. Heck, I'd be surprised if the GOP manages to retake the WH within the next 8 years.

Instead of Perry being sworn in as POTUS, he'd be read his MIRANDA rights.
