I don't know how the wiretapping charge could stand. Gilk vs Cunniffe set the precedent that a citizen can record public officials in public places. Police should just wear miniature cameras on them at all times, but then again they probably won't let the public access the videos. I know they recently required all police in the UK To wear a camera.
