Do you really think that drug laws keep any one from driving under the influence? I'm more worried about the clueless idiot that drives around with a cellphone stuck in their ear.
I personally don't drink, smoke, or take drugs. The only drug I might someday be interested in is medical marijuana becuase I view it as an herb with healing properties not a drug. but I don't even currently take that.
What I can't understand is why people during prohibition needed their alchohol so much? The people who got it banned had good intentions, they saw that alcholism had ruined people lives. Why couldn't people learn to live with the ban and do without alchohol? What is the great appeal?
It's simply an addiction issue. I currently have a partner overcoming alcoholism and its one of the worst addictions I've seen.
He used alcohol because his employer drug tested. He was going through a divorce.
That argument has worked before to make society better, hasn't it? Kid's are going to have sex anyway ... now we have millions of children being murdered every year via legal abortion, and out-of-wedlock births creating a burgeoning welfare state, costing us billions of dollars annually.

What I propose is that those who wish to be perpetually stoned live in their own enclave. They can do what they want, mainline heroin, snort coke, smoke meth, etc. and the gov provides all the drugs they want.
The only caveat, is they can never leave. When their bodies start shutting down due to all the chemicals, injected, snorted, eaten, whatever, they are on their own.
That ought to thin out the stupid from the population because only a moron would do those things.
