Maybe he was given the same vaccine given to Jack Ruby.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy...what goes around comes around.

His son committed suicide, after the fall out of this entire crime.

He hurt so many people. His wife refuses to talk to him.

Really, I would love to read an article about him, why he did it, what he thought would happen...in depth, the real story....he should come clean while he has a chance for salvation. Confession is good for the soul...

I'm sure his wife enjoyed his ill gotten gains. Unless she has committed a portion of her income now and in the future to trying to repay some of the people that paid for her lavish lifestyle she has no right to get all holier-than-thou.

Not really. He lived a great life - and did it with other people's money right up to the very end. It's not like he got caught when he was in his 30s. He already lived past the age of 70 before he had to go to prison: and now the state is paying for his medical care.

That guy rolled like a boss. And he handled his sentence far better than his investors handled losing their money. If they wanted a safe investment, they should have put their money in CDs and/or government bonds. Risk equals return - they were taking a larger risk by turning their money over to a crook. If they were smart enough to make the money to begin with, they should have known better.

I love it too. When his investors that were more than likely proponents of the 'free market' and 'capitalism' lost their money. . . . .

That's right. They ran crying to the government.

You kinda beat me to it.

He could have lived the life of a typical wage slave scratching and clawing his way through life only to wake up one day to realize he's 70 and dying.

In that sense, the joke is on us.

Madoff is a psychopath. He can't explain why he did it even if he honestly tried.
The truth is he did it because he could. Psychopaths don't have any conscience that acts as a brake to check their behavior, and they commonly steal things or take just as much as they can.

They ran to the government because the government enforces the law.
