Yes the tax payer is going to bail out the insurance company. An insurance bailout is built in to the Obamacare law. It props up the insurance industry and prevents them from bailing out. Although few people knew about it until recently, Obamacare contains a 3 year "risk corridor program" designed to bail out insurers if costs were higher than anticipated from too few young people enrolled.

On Monday, HHS proposed changes that would open the bailout spigot even more. It proposes to loosen the rules to be eligible for any "risk corridor" money. It also wants to lower the threshold before a company can get federal "reinsurance" payments. Previously, a company would have to spend at least $60,000 on an individual before the government would kick in. They want to drop that to $45,000.
Some observers think the resulting costs of an ObamaCare bailout could reach half a billion dollars in the first year.

2/3 of Americans oppose the bailout.

Name one instance where there is evidence the Obama administration gives a sh*t what the American people think.

Of course because if not then many would drop healthcare insurance. That would mean less competiton. Even in employer self insured the insurance company handling claims are allow 20% of claims in gross profits for managing/ handling claims in most contracts. The main difference here is that coverage is mandated and that not all pay the same cost. That mean younger who are insured pay more for coverage that is designed to cover a broad range of wanted coverage decided politically and that cost is not the same to all in pool. In fact it is bailout to those who by every nature of pre-existing needs to way out pace what they pay for and raises price because of coverage they wouldn't often buy to healthy persons or those with higher incomes because they pay more for same coverage with no choice. To insurers its advantage is mandated coverage that means more with at least some skin in the game over being charge more because hospitals have to cover free mandated treatment. Everyone agrees it punishes the younger healthier person because he could other wise buy better coverage for his risk at cheaper price when young to pay for those with pre-existing coverage that by nature will cost more than they pay. It also is a wealth sharing plan in that it charges more to those who are wealthy for same coverage in premiums and the taxes supporting the plan.In 2017 those taxes in states with increased medicaid cost goes up. In 2018 there is a excise tax on so called Cadillac plans of employers.

So essentially Obamacare is welfare.

No .... texdave just gave us the narritive of the "advertised" plan. The truth is far worse, and few seem to wake up to this reality, even though these crooks keep pulling the same con, over and over again.

This is a pure "shake down". The relationships between the public, insurance companies, medical providers and pharmacuetical corporations is totoally misunderstood-misrepresented. The insurance companies are just collection agents working for the rest of the medical cartel, there to collect and pool large amounts of funds to be tapped by the rest of the medical establishment. This allows for these outrageously high prices being charged for services that individuals could never afford to pay out of pocket ( this has always been the purpose and role of medical insurance plans and the companies involved).

ObamaCare is just the next phase of a wholesale shake down, because that is happening across the board with the trillions being heisted by the financial establishment and it's bailout inside deal with the bribe takers in congress. You are not going to be allowed to escape being bled dry, hence the mandatory requirement to participate in this ponzi scheme. So, the prices of insurance will skyrocket, and the costs of medical services will keep pace, driving all of the small (read:non-establishment players) out of business, only to be swallowed up by the large companies. They will cry CRISIS!!! We're going bankrupt due to not enough revenue to meet the escallating costs, and that's when the politicos the system owns will open up the pocketbook and give them hundreds of billions more of our money ... because, we can't let the system fail, can we?

My question is, how many times can these con artists sell the same scam before people realize what is being done to them. It's getting absurd, really .. this level of public stupidity almost deserves to be robbed blind!!! And that's exactly how the crooks look at it.

If someone approached you with a diamond studded, 14 kt gold rolex watch and said you can have it for $50 ... would you be stupid enough to think it was real? Well, that's what EVERY PLAN that comes out of Washington DC is ... a fake!!!!

"Affordable Care Act" indeed The names put on these Bills (of goods) are an inside joke, and tells you up front what to expect. We can't afford it ... they don't care .. and it's all an act.

The real intent of ObamaCare is far more sinister than a simple financial shake down, unfortunately, no one is going to understand that when they can't even figure out that they are being bled financially.

I predict ... and this is predicated on the failure to repeal this "obamanation", that we'll begin hearing talk about the need for mandatory health screenings/treatments as preventative measures, INCLUDING forced vaccinations. That's the next step in this attack, and it is a key component in the larger agenda. That's why every single thread that involves vaccines on this board will only allow pro-vaccine content. The moment real facts about the fraud of vaccines is presented, the threads get shut down, pronto. I've seen 5 or 6 of them shut down for various claimed reasons, like people just can't debate nicely .... of course the race baiting threads can go on indefinitely, with dozens of pages of nothing but insults back and forth, and they are rarely shut down.

Keep an eye on the news ... we're going to see more and more propaganda about vaccine compliance and how essential this is to help mitigate skyrocketing costs of healthcare.

While you're at it .. do a bit of self educating about the history of vaccines .. about binary agents, and population control/reduction if you want to know what ObamaCare is really about.

For those whose immediate thought is "conspiracy theory" ... you'd better pull your heads out of the sand, because this ostrich behavior does only one thing ... blinds you from reality, and leaves your butt a stationary target.

Another large transfer of wealth from the middle class to large shareholding companies. I agree.

They now like to call it wealth sharing. But welfare tax( per supreme court) or wealth transfer are all really correct.
