"New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's loyalty to the Republican Party is being questioned after he refused to make a public endorsement of a possible GOP challenger to New York Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a move some say could hurt his chances of winning the 2016 GOP presidential nomination...Christie's spokesman and political consultant have refused to comment on the reports, according to the Post, and after the initial report suggesting Christie would back Astorino, Cuomo told the paper, "I spoke to Gov. Christie this morning, who told me the exact opposite."

NY Post: Christie's 'Bizarre Behavior' Raises Questions on 2016 Prospects

So besides figuratively smooching Obama, making a really poor convention speech that wasn't what I'd call a ringing endorsement of Romney because it was more about himself and ragging on Rand Paul, now he won't even endorse the Republican candidate for NY governor and calls Cuomo to tell him?

He is probably looking to become President - and the further that he distances himself from the non-winnable ultra-conservative faction of the Republican Party - i.e. Tea Party and religious Evangelicals - the more likely that he will appeal to the moderates in the Party.

..unless he secretly wishes to become a Democrat.

I'm hoping he secretly intends to thumb his nose at both parties and seek the White House as an Independent, that'd get my vote.

its not even uncommon for a president to avoid appearing with a controversial candidate when he sees it harming him or for a candidate to not want a president unpopular in his/her area to appear with him/her. Chrisitie is just doing the same I imagine in what he thinks or the candidate did not seek his endorsement for political reasons. Its going to be more interesting in seeing who exactly seeks Obama to appear or endorse them officially in congressional race this time.

A very simple Google Search for "Astorino" was all that was needed to poopoo the OP.

I will hold on before forming an opinion because we all know that when democrats fear someone they attack them with a vengeance with all kinds of false accusations.

I heard that what OP is saying is false.

Astorino never said he was running for governor, nor did he seek support from Christie.

Actually burdell, I'm on the line with Christie but at this point in time believing it's just another democratic attack it makes me want to open my mind to Christie even more. It's having the opposite effect.
