No, that is an attribute of power. In the real world there is only one reality: power. Power has many forms - military, political, economic, industrial - but in essence it is the same. Power is the exercise of dominion and control over people and property and their uses. In a word, power is domination. However, power does not exist by itself alone, it must be held or surrendered to another. Throughout history, many who have wielded power have been soldiers, who have raised armies to gain and maintain it. (What other purpose but to seize power could the great Caesar have had in mind when he led his legions across the Rubicon?) Even so, power to exist must have a base. To be sustained, power must flow from the many to the few, who rule over them. Not even the greatest dictator can sustain his power without popular support. Every age has had tyrants who have used, and abused, power; which prompted Lord Acton to remark: "Power tends to corrupt, absolute power corrupts absolutely." To which historical comment Madame Nhu retorted: "Power is wonderful, absolute power is absolutely wonderful."
Why is it somehow "greedy" if one desires to keep more of the money they have earned but not "greedy" when the government takes more of it from you?
We all have a finite number of hours in our lives. If you will, imagine that you are working for cash, 8 hours a day, and the boss pays you every hour. For the first 2 or 3 hours, the tax guy takes the cash from you and puts in his pocket, then walks over and hands it to a person standing in a line out in the street. That's your life the tax guy is handing out. If he hands it to a LEO or a soldier or an air traffic controller that's one thing, but when he starts handing it to people who's disability is that they've eaten themselves out of the ability to work, would that seem greedy to the guy busting his but? Would the guy busting his but feel greedy if he told that guy to go away?
And back to the original intent of the post-those same finite hours apply to one's choice of partner. How many of a persons hours should they devote to romantic partners who can't or won't pull their weight in this world? Do they "owe" anybody who takes a shine to them for whatever reason their precious hours?
Bank and Wall Street greed, as well as greedy people borrowing more than they could afford to buy a house they would later walk away from, caused the 2008 crash and recession and a great deal of unemployment. Yeah sure--that was great for the whole country.
Would you rather live in a society where everyone acted like King Midas and Gordon Gekko or where they acted like Jesus? A society where greed was the motivator or generosity? To argue that greed keeps marriages together is absolutely ridiculous. How about all those spouses with money who cheat on their partners because they are married to their jobs and 'things'? You can be wealthy and not be greedy, e.g., Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and Ted Turner.

These "greedy people" were asked to play; and they played with full faith and credit in the government and the banks, respectively.

People follow Jesus in their own self interest.
