Well if you are referring to Ron Paul's previous Libertarian run for President and now on the GOP ticket, no. In Paul's case he does have obvious Libertarian leanings but I would say he is closer to what the definition of a conservative was back before the mid 1970's. Some folks contended that Ron Paul is outside the norm of the GOP, I on the other hand would say the the GOP has strayed from its roots.

Well there were many in the GOP who didn't vote for Bush in the primaries back in 2000, just not enough to make a difference. I can think of several outstanding members of government who reside in the GOP that have some of the best reputations in Washington DC, like Ron Paul or Chuck Hagel, or even John Warner.
It is certainly no secret that I despise G W Bush and what his administration has come to represent in my opinion, but I certainly won't hold it against everyone in the Republican party because keep in mind, what ultimately led to G W Bush becoming President is that basically half of America's voters pulled a lever for this guy.
