With our own government shutting down, and Detroit bankrupt, can we really afford to give out more international 'welfare'?
EL AVIV, Israel, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Israel's military chiefs are pushing for a bump in the $3.1 billion a year the Jewish state receives in U.S. military aid even though the 10-year agreement doesn't expire until 2017 and America is struggling with domestic economic issues.
Among other things, the Israelis are citing a 2008 U.S. law that for the first time legally committed Washington to maintain the Jewish state's technological superiority -- its Qualitative Military Edge, or QME, in military terminology -- over its regional adversaries, particularly Iran, which has been pursuing nuclear technology.

Yes. If we give them that much more again, every year, it will take more than 200 years to equal the amount we wasted for nothing in the first so-called "stimulus".
And it will hold at bay the primitive savages who call themselves "Palestinian" militants and fancy themselves as "leaders".
Sure, give it to Israel, but only if we cut off foreign aid to those who are not allies and close all of our bases in the EU (to start) since they hate the US military so much. Let them guard their own door.
Otherwise no, unless the government comes up with some other place to cut spending to pay for the increase. It's insane and irresponsible to increase spending while claiming they need to shut down the government because of a lack of money.

Facts: Israel was created on Palestinian land, and has continued to expand since then. They've committed war crimes, created food blockades, and bulldozed entire villages. They also have nuclear, as well as chemical, weapons.
What exactly are the Palestinians doing that are so barbaric? What makes them primitive? Maybe its the lack of billions of dollars fed from the biggest war marchine in the history of the world...
I bet you think the Native Americans were ignorant savages too, and since they hadnt the urge to conquer other continents yet oe pray to jesus, they deserved genocidal eradication, either by small pox or outright war (much the same fate that Palestianians apparently deserve for being born where white people wanted to live).
We should double even triple what we give to Israel after all we owe them so much.
If it weren't for Israel we would have lost our war for Independence. Oh wait israel wasn't around for that but I am sure they would have helped us out.
If it weren't for Israel there would be no electricity or electric light bulbs. Oh wait Thomas Edison did that, But I am sure Israel would have shared with us if they had been around for that.
If it weren't for Israel we wouldn't have so many friends in the region. Oh wait it's because of Israel that we are pretty much hated in the region.
Israel has been a great friend. They only tried to sink and kill every sailor on a US flagged ship. They only stole our most precious secrets and sold them to our worst enemy. I mean seriously we can't live without Israel. They only meddle in our politics because they want what is best for our nation. When you have a friend like Israel you will never need another friend again.
If that's the case, why not spend it all here to benefit OUR citizens instead?

Fighting tooth and nail to take food out of the mouths of children, the elderly, and disabled, denouncing worker rights and busting unions, and holding the world's biggest economy hostage over affordable healthcare. But when its time to feed the Israeli war machine, thats just a cost we have to accept for the good of the American people.
Talk about priorities. These conservatives continue to eat it right up: Tea Party, NRA, Corporate interests denying global warming and smearing the ACA, public unions, and minorities for the budget crises, and are now gleefully eating from the AIPAC trough.
Its no coincidence those with higher education tend to run the opposite direction of anything thats red or resembling an elephant.
