OK guys. I'm posting this because I'd like to know if the national day of mourning by Native Americans is truly nation. So do you guys that live in states with large Native American population have/or ever heard of the national day of mourning? Or is just aberration in Massachusetts?
I know that many of the Armenian population in Southern California are uncomfortable with any reference to "Turkey Day". It can get very complex....not sure about a "Day of Mourning", though....
How very interesting. Wonder who is instigating this one? Sounds like ACLU crap again. They basically have New England by the b*lls.
I have worked extensively with the Native Americans, who call themselves INDIANS! They all celebrate Thanksgiving, I would be invited to their homes, and we would have a big turkey dinner at the worksite as well. Before eating everyone gathered around in a circle and the elder of the community would give THANKS for being an American and for this country. A very patriotic and spiritual people for the most part.
There are so many perpetrated myths about our holidays in general. Try hard to think for yourselves and keep a skeptical eye on what the LSS (liberal secular socialists) are ranting. Our children are being indoctrinated in their government schools, denigrating the Founding Fathers, preaching revisionism, etc. Ferreting out tripe from truth is getting murkier than ever to do, especially for the younger people in this country, a travesty really. They are indoctrinated daily in hatred of our country and culture, made to feel guilty for being an American. We have come a long way baby.... But many parents are finding another way to teach their children history, rather than trust the school system, they are doing it themselves. It is the American Way, independently, without government meddling.

I find it instructive that so many people go to so much trouble to create unhappiness and bad feeling based on such a limited historical perspective. Personally, I am thankful, indeed, that I am not among them, and that my life is not defined by seeking attention for participating in such obvious absurdities.
Socialism has taken deep root in this country, and there are agendas to be completed. Mainly to disavow the younger generation (they know they can't get us oldies) of any goodness, any decency in their native land and its history. Their fervor is quite admirable, obsessive compulsive really. And they will tip the scales unless we intervene exponentially more than the efforts at present.
Thanks for kudos, LancasterNative, fellow American!
