That is the comparison being made.

Is there any subject here that does'nt end up offedning homosexuals? I just left one thread to get away from all that hateful name calling homosexuals have for straight people.

Could we just get back to the subject and leave lifestyles out of it?

It's not so much that the "gay" thing is offensive, it's the lack of reading comprehension from the OP that's offensive.

I am willing to bet a very large amount of money that there isn't a kid who sees this movie who will think this character is gay. Probably won't even think of him as representing Jesus unless they are very well churched.

Wonder why they did'nt use mohammad instead of Jesus? Never mind I already know, cowards only pick on peaceful people. They are affraid of islam.

Saw it the first day it was out.

Awesome special effects, mediocre acting & story plot. Certainly not one of Russell Crowes better movies.

Its like watching a fireworks show from beginning to end wanting it to be over & done with so you can get the heck out.

Obviously that's what logical people who read what was quoted would take away from the producer's statement... Though this is the P&C forum, so logic is sometimes in short supply.

I saw it on Sunday. I thought it was a perfect Father's Day movie as it spent a lot of time examining the actions of his two dads, what they wanted for him, how the presence and absence of each influenced him, etc.
I thought it was also a real science-fiction movie - something I certainly haven't seen in a long time.
The casting was great, there was a lot of action (over long in some instances, yes), none of the characters was stupid, including the members of the military and the score was excellent. I would definitely see it again.
