When you have a normal family upbringing, you can't possibly relate to someone who hasn't. This is a clear cut example of what happens to someone who is not brought up properly. And the people wailing on him and slinging hatred are just as bad. This is the society we live in. Absentee parenting or abusive parenting has made society a bunch of cold, ridiculing, hateful bunch. Fine, but would you really expect to come on a public forum and tell a large portion of the readership that "their rodent instinct to eat their young is still kicking" and get no negative reaction?
