PEORIA, Ariz. -
*Warning graphic images in video

A Peoria mother is getting a lot of backlash after she posted a video of her daughter failing to jump into a swimming pool on YouTube.

She says she posted it partly as a warning, and partly as a campaign to raise money for her daughter's medical bill.

Motel balcony + swimming pool + kid party + booze = landing on the concrete.
This happens all the time in college towns.

In my town, it was jumping off a bridge into a deep fast moving river. The extra stupid climbed up on the superstructure of the bridge to get another 20 feet of height. Most survived, some did not. The jumping stopped only when the bridge was replaced with a new one.

I don't know if these kids had been drinking, and they jumped off the roof of a private home, but kids do stupid things.

I'm sorry that girl did a stupid thing. I won't be contributing to help pay the medical bills, but if others want to, that's all right with me.

I fail to see the issue with the video and asking for donations. I DO however see an issue, with people making an issue of it. She isn't demanding. She isn't making a donation some kind of requirement for something. If you don't want to donate, just don't. The worst she should be seeing is simply no donations rather than people calling her out or anything. You don't go and heckle the bums that panhandle around town do you? I fail to see the difference here. Kids have been doing stupid things for dares and other reasons for centuries, and they will continue to do so. With today's technology, it's just more frequently captured for posterity now.

In the comments it was suggested that she lives in her mothers house and should be covered by her insurance, could this be a scam?
I think I will send a quarter and tell her to call someone who cares
No maybe not since this is just a prelude of accidents to happen to her stupid daughter.

Kids being stupid, no big surprise. Mother asking the public to pay for her daughter's stupidity...not so cool, but no harm done unless you're dumb enough to donate.
