And how many shootings were there in the entire state of VA where its legal to own as many guns as one can want? It would probably take an entire month to come close to that number. Yet just in NYC there were at least 120 incidents last month.

That would be illegal.

You really should visit NYC sometime so you see for yourself rather than make up police state stuff.

Cop on every corner

Until they put in security check points at the bridges into NYC this will continue, short ride to VA and PA to get what you want, almost half of gun crime is with weapons from states with liberal laws.

Of course, you have no evidence to support the excuses you are making up here.

Yes, gun violence IS down in New York City.

Down to "only" 25 being shot on a weekend. It used to be more like 50 or 60 shot on a weekend, between the gangbangers, drug dealers, muggers, and other such model citizens, plus the occasional wife finding the hubby in bed and not alone

25 shot in a weekend is the New Normal for the world the leftists have brought us, along with 8% unemployment and taxes on our taxes.

Actually 25 being shot in a weekend here is actually really rare. But thanks for trying to pretend that it is a regular thing here.

It's already been documented that a good percentage of guns used in crimes in NYC come from elsewhere. That seems like a large number but then NYC is fairly large city, still a high number for one weekend since there have been some weekends where no shootings occurred.

Gun crimes have been declining across the entire country for the past decade.

Gun control has nothing to do with it. That's evident by the fact that when someone is killed, it's likely by gun. If you're crook in NYC, it's not hard to get a gun. But if you try and carry it, you're chances of getting stopped and frisked by the cops are pretty high (this being it's own major controversy ), and if you get caught, you get a couple years up the river, so it's likely not worth it. This is much more of a factor than the fact that it's basically impossible to get a gun legally. That was the same way when we had 2,200 murders a year, instead of something like 500 a year that we've had for the last several.

Going political, NYC has now had 20 years of non-Democratic machine Mayors (yes, I know Bloomberg acts a lot like a Dem, but he is not beholden to them, does what he wants, and has kept all the Giulianni era LE policies.) This looks like it's about to end, and the Democratic machine will again get control of the city. Whoever the new mayor is (and the Lesbian city council president is the front runner), will likely keep the cops on a much tighter leash. I'm figuring this will lead to a big increase in the murder rate, but we'll see.
Crime and the murder rate in NYC started to drop for a few years prior to Rudy taking office.
