If you don't live in CA, why are you so obsessed with it?

For me personally I thought it newsworthy. Also, after living in California for five years in the earlier part of my life the saying used to be "As California goes, so goes the country". I hope that this is not still true.

California? Wasn't that a Republic in Russia until the 1990's?

Who cares? If you don't like it, don't go there. There's plenty of places in the world--in the USA even--where you can run around shooting your assault rifle into the air to celebrate Ramadan or Christmas or whatever. There's also plenty of places where you can't carry a gun unless you're a conscript in the military. If you like the sound of that, better than of the current state of wherever YOU live, then either try to change where YOU live, or move somewhere more suitable to you. Why bother sticking your nose in other people's business halfway across the world, or the country, just because you used to live there, or because you just care so gosh-darn much about every little thing on the agenda of your favorite talk show host.

I've visited and lived in a number of other places, and doing so has chilled me the f--- out from my earlier days of rabid everyone-fearing conservatism. Never really liked guns, though I've owned a few. Never swung all the way to nutball liberalism, either--though I'm sure some people don't think so. Stayed conservative enough to laugh at the craziness.

Nobody runs around screaming their head off about "Socialism = Nazis" in Taipei, where private gun ownership is illegal and a non-fatal scooter accident makes the prime time news (rather than a shooting where 20-something toddlers are murdered) and nobody thinks twice about walking around downtown in a city of 5 million at 1AM on a Friday night.

Likewise, nobody freaks out about... I don't know, what do liberals hate? Jesus I guess. Nobody freaks out about kids praying in school in Tamarindo where Catholicism is pretty much the state religion, yet the government couldn't give a less of a crap about tracking whom you're calling--inside or outside the country.

Thats all well and good but, you see, the thing about infection is, it has a funny way of spreading if it goes untreated.

Simple answer:

To counteract the "Progressives" who wish to infect the rest of the country with their freedom hatred.

Example: Bloomberg recently going to Nevada and spreading his money around and getting in cahoots with the "D's" and FORCING the rest of them to vote party lines in an attempt to further infringe on the 2nd amendment enumerated natural rights.

SO, let me ask you:
What business a NYC Billionaire has trying to FORCE his brand of intrusive totalitarianism on NEVADA!?!

Arizona is next door, no worries, come on over. You will have complete freedom and no gun control what so ever.
There are plenty of states that give complete freedom. Gun activist - the sky is hardly falling. Grow up.
The 6 craziest state gun laws

Be prepared though, it's the wild west out here and we have no room for sissy's. IMO.

Guns make it a bit more exciting.

10 Pro-Gun Myths, Shot Down | Mother Jones

People with more guns tend to kill more people—with guns. The states with the highest gun ownership rates have a gun murder rate 114% higher than those with the lowest gun ownership rates. Also, gun death rates tend to be higher in states with higher rates of gun ownership. Gun death rates are generally lower in states with restrictions such as assault-weapons bans or safe-storage requirements. So you better own when you get here, you'll need it.

That said, you can kill someone easily for breaking into your home or vehicle. No biggy.

Guns don't kill people.......people themselves will kill if a desire is to do so.........

Lets see now......don't have a gun so will use a kitchen knife.....butcher knife should do.......

Not in the kitchen/house guess I will find a large piece of 2x4 wood from the garage......

No 2x4 so maybe the shovel or rake handle will suffice......

Better yet why don't we just BAN all of those things and re-learn to eat with just our fingers and live in the open fields or woods like the ancient times.......NO need for progress.

Now I have a gun and want to rob a Liquor store......question is which one has a GUN under the cash register and which one DOES NOT for protection . Decisions after Decisions.

Basically it all comes down to this.

As long as our Government wants to train/arm the citizens with Guns to go over to another country and kill people we will NEVER BAN guns in the US.

Well, to be fair the things you mention take a bit more effort. They aren't designed to kill effectively nor do they take such little effort but I see your point. A lot more people live through an attack with a knife or 2x4. It's easier to defend yourself from a kitchen utensil than a bullet.

Nope, we will never ban guns here. Seeing that the government makes the majority of it's money from it's own arms sales, it would be silly. The U.S. might squeeze out a restriction or two now and then but it won't ever ban guns or get even close.

The NRA just likes to establish a "sky is falling" mentality because it boosts sales. We are a capitalist society after all. Gun owners gladly purchase more when this happens. It's like triggering a greyhound with a rabbit. IMO, of course.

What? Places with far fewer GUNS see less GUN crime? Wow.... you just B-L-E-W my mind!!! Why do proponents of more restrictive gun laws cite this fact as if it were somehow significant? Of course these areas have far less gun crime, because less people have the opportunity to use a gun to commit the crime. The real question is, do they choose not to commit the crime because they have no access to guns? OR do they find some other means in which to commit the crime? My vote is on the latter.

As it should be. Criminals should consider this an occupational hazard, for when you break in to someones home to harm them, they have waved their right to life, liberty, or the pursuit of happiness.

Neither are guns. Guns are designed to fire a projectile down range at a high rate of speed, nothing more, nothing less. What is in the path of that projectile is entirely the choice of the operator.

Do you have anything to back this claim up?

I couldn't agree more..... except the sales part. The NRA doesn't make any money from gun sales, but they do strike fear in to the ignorant to boost donations.

Sadly this is true.

The way legislators in California draft new laws after new laws, everyone in the state will be a felon in 20 years - or less.
