How can one be a very conservative Ron Paul guy when one does fund raisers for Obama and trashes the tea party?

Explain

Of course civil rights and women's rights were part of the culture, they still are, but we were not trying to get our point across, either way by what was being shown on TV.
In those days, TV shows were for pure entertainment. People didn't look up to entertainers and certainly didn't try to emulate the characters they played.

These days, the days of Kardashians, Eva Longoria, and skanky housewives, people get on forums and talk like they actually know and admire the players. It's one of those amusing liberal disconnects.

I loved All In The Family. One of the greatest shows of all time. They don't make 'em like that anymore. And they don't make Americans like they did back then, either.

Sure they did, they elected an actor to be President.

I didn't say meathead was anything, I simply said, there is a huge difference between being a conservative and supporting the Tea Party. I didn't even realize, until BentBow mentioned it, he was a Paul supporter. I think I did remember that, now that it has been mentioned, but I had totally forgot. I might also add, Meathead probably supported Paul because of Paul's Libertarian views on social issues.

and btw, like him or not, being a lib or conservative, isn't the issue, when you mention RR, you really need to remember he was a little more than just an actor.

Here's the thing about All in the Family. Archie Bunker was a blowhard, but he did have a heart, and he would admit he was wrong once in a while. And as much as he liked to put down meathead, they all had to get along in the end. That is why I don't buy all this ranting about RINO, threatening secession, etc. We will never all agree, not even in the same family, but we have to treat each other with compassion when the chips are down. The rhetoric I have read here some days seems closer to a KKK rally than All in the Family, that is not anything to be proud of.
