Al Gore has done pretty well as an author. He even has respect from intelligent people in a multitude of different disciplines.
We need more smart people to not only speak up but to show the courage of their convictions and stand up to powerful forces which are attempting to marginalize intellectualism for political and financial gain.
Republicans on this site continue to start threads like this because they are still operating under the assumption that Democrats hate the rich,which is untrue.
What we hate is the conservative philosophy that Business owners and the very wealthy will create jobs simply by having more money(tax breaks). No business has ever created a job out of the goodness of their heart. There has to be a need for the job for the business to create it.
Gore is filthy rich just from being a politician but has he created a single job? He's a hypocrit.
There are many factors that have contributed to the Internet's rapid growth since the later 1980s, not the least of which has been political support for its privatization and continued support for research in advanced networking technology. No one in public life has been more intellectually engaged in helping to create the climate for a thriving Internet than the Vice President. Gore has been a clear champion of this effort, both in the councils of government and with the public at large.
The Vice President deserves credit for his early recognition of the value of high speed computing and communication and for his long-term and consistent articulation of the potential value of the Internet to American citizens and industry and, indeed, to the rest of the world.
I wonder what he's going to do with all that money.
Booze and broads?
He's using his money to start the CCC which will rape countries by redistributing their wealth to third world puppets. Economists figure the CCC could earn 10-15% of a 12 TRILLION DOLLAR scam.
