The Iraq war = 2 Trillion taxpayer dollars spent to bring chaos and despair to millions of Iraqi children.
Mission accomplished!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New report outlines deteriorating situation for Iraqi children a decade after Bush's 'Mission Accomplished' speech.

It was 10 years ago today that George W. Bush stood in front of a banner proclaiming Mission Accomplished in Iraq.

Yet the country today is "one of the world's most neglected crises," where statistics of daily violence, death and insecurity

Between December 3rd 2012 and April 23rd 2013, more than 1,236 Iraqi civilians have been killed, averaging 9 deaths per day. (The report also notes that this figure is likely a low estimate.)

An estimated 692 children and young people have been killed since December last year.

Nearly one million children are affected by the presence of landmines, which limit their access to essential services, and hundreds of children have been maimed or killed by exploded cluster bomblets since 1991.

There are an estimated 35,000 infant deaths every year in Iraq.

One in four children has stunted physical and intellectual development due to under-nutrition.

In 2010, 7 years after the conflict began, it was estimated that over a quarter of Iraqi children, or 3 million, suffered varying degrees of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

The life expectancy of ordinary Iraqis has gone down by two years in just over a decade.

Who cares anymore, let them rip each other to shreds. That's what they like doing and are good at it.

And could you remind me, was it Obama that decided that we needed to go to war with Iraq?

We won the war with Iraq and took out Saddam and his military, who, right or wrong, we saw as a threat. Turning a 3rd world Islamic craphole into a peaceful, prosperous, first world democratic country isn't our job. We're the only country dumb enough to feel like we need to rebuild a defeated foe. We should have gotten out as soon as Saddam was captured.

In spite of that, it's amazing how quickly things have gone downhill over there since 2009.

it doesnt matter. he was the one that said he was going to end the iraq war, and he used bushs timetable for troop withdrawal. and since it happened AFTER bush left office, it was up to him to either complete a status of forces agreement with the new iraqi government or pull all the troops from iraq. obama choose the latter, and the chaos now happening in iraq is the result.

Any form of chaos would of happened anyway because we shouldn't of invaded their country to begin with.

You mean things were great in Iraq before 2009?

True enough, but at this point, who cares? It's not our problem any more. If Iraqis want to keep killing Iraqis, it's up to them.
