Really? In that case Thompson's testimony just got a huge shot of credibility. If this administration says Thompson is lying, then I know with absolutely certainty that he is speaking the unvarnished absolute truth. It is this administration that has the propensity for telling lies.
To debate this is moot. It's over. The US was wrong on all counts as it turned out to be a terrorist attack.
For 2 weeks the US thought it was movie outrage. They have serious problems with their intelligence to go that long while the rest of the world said terrorist attack.
Seems to me its at the heart of this and many other threads on Benghazi. Did the Obama Administration deliberately mislead Americans over the events in Benghazi for political purposes? Or did they base their comments on what U.S. Intelligence was telling them?

0bama did go off to bed not knowing or caring if Stevens was alive or dead. obama destroyed the Libyan military, deposed their president, dissolved their government, and then washed his hands of anything to do with Libya. Even when his consulate was under attack ten months later, 0bama could not be bothered for more then 15 min, before he then washed his hands of it once again.

Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta on Thursday revealed he personally broke the news to President Obama that the U.S. diplomatic post in Benghazi, Libya, was under attack last year — but he and the president didn’t speak the rest of the night as the assault on the compound unfolded.
Mr. Panetta said he and Mr. Obama, along with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, discussed the attack for 15 minutes in the Oval Office the afternoon of Sept. 11, and also covered an anti-American protest that had broken out that day at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo. Testifying to the Senate Armed Services Committee, Mr. Panetta said the president told them to “do whatever you need to do to be able to protect our people there,” though when it came to specifics the president “left it up to us.”
It took us five months before we even learned this much. Prior to this hearing in Feb 2013, NO ONE knew where the hell 0bama was on the night of Sept 11, 2012, now we know where he was for a whopping 15 minutes.

And to suppose this is true then 10 years of additional funding for national security PLUS them actually being in the country means they don't know what the hell is going on to dismiss all other intelligence information from other countries, including Libya for 2 weeks straight.
So they ignored all the other countries for 2 weeks because they didn't know sh*t about what happened and "thought" it was the movie.
Rice told the President of Libya on CBS that he was a liar and it was the "movie guy".

Wrong. It was known by everyone that it was a terrorist attack, but, the lie was repeated in an attempt to get past the election.
Well yes, because 0bama had been campaigning that al Qaeda was "on the run" and he killed bin Laden, so no attacks could be seen as an al Qaeda attack or an attack by Islamic terrorists. So every terrorist attack under 0bama is done by lone wolves, or they are classified as work place violence.
Especially when the rest of the world said terrorist attack.
Turns out our intelligence agencies aren't very bright after all.
Maybe we need to outsource it to other groups that actually do know what's going on.

A small team of Special Forces operatives was ready to fly from Tripoli to Benghazi last year after Libyan insurgents attacked the U.S. mission there, but was told it was not authorized to board the flight by regional military commanders, according to a career State Department official scheduled to testify before Congress on Wednesday.
A team of 4, to be exact. And that was 100% the right call on the military's part. The ambassador was already dead, and special forces or not, 4 guys wouldn't have made a lot of difference. Putting special forces up against an armed mob at 10-1 odds was tried in Mogadishu, and it did not end well at all.
